White buckram fabric on a black background
Two pieces of craft foam, one red, one silver, on a black background
A hot glue gun
E-6000 fabri fuse glue tube on black background
A pair of blue handled scissors on a black background
A pink handled hole punch
Two large shape punches, one that punches a round shape with scalloped edges, the other that punches a circle
A small round plastic container and a mason jar lid in two parts (ring and top) on a black background
A pink clothespin, red clothespin, and silver hair clip on a black background
A white lined index card on a black background
A pile of silver and clear gems on a black background
A bottle of gold paint and a bottle of purple paint on a black background
A red tassel with a purple tie lying diagonally on a black background

Instructions

1. Cut two circles from the craft foam using a punch, or trace around something (I used a mason jar lid) and add scallops by hand. Approximately 2.5-3 inch diameter.
The top of a mason jar lid laying on red craft foam
An outline of a circle with scalloped edges drawn around it in pencil on a piece of red craft foam
Two circles of red glitter craft foam with scalloped edges on a black background

2. Cut two circles from buckram about 2 inches in diameter using a punch or tracing around a smaller circular item. You could also use a circle compass tool.

3. Cut from edge to center point. To find the center, Fold buckram circle in half, then in half again.

Two hands tracing around a round container on buckram with a yellow pencil
A piece of stiff white textured woven fabric cut in a circle and folded into quarters
Two circles of stiff woven white fabric with a slit cut from the edge to the middle

4. Cut two flowers in a contrasting color with die cut machine, or trace a flower using an index card pattern.

5. Punch a hole in the center of the flowers using a small hole punch or large needle.

Four glitter gold flowers on a black background the top two have five rounded petals, the bottom two have eight skinnier petals. All four have a small hole in the center

6. Thread tassel through hole in flower.

7. Cut from edge to center point on foam circles.

Two round pieces of red glitter craft foam with scalloped edges and a slit cut from the edge to the center

8. Slide top of tassel cord into cut on foam circles, leaving the flower and tassel on front of the circle, and tie knot in cord to secure. Secure with hot glue.

9. Fold foam slightly at cut, overlapping it ¼ – ½ inch to make a cone shape, secure with hot glue, using hair clip or clothes pin to hold it together while glue dries.

A picture of the in-progress pastie from the front/side There is a hair clip holding it together where it has been glued together, a little bit of purple thread coming out from the center, and a gold glitter flower resting on top

10. Glue buckram circle onto back of foam with hot glue, overlapping it about  ¼ inch. I find it's easiest to glue one half and then the other.
The back of the in-progress pastie. There is a circle of white buckram fabric being glued down, with one side still sticking up. The yellow flower can be seen from behind it in the lower left hand corner
A picture of the back of the in-progress pastie. The white buckram fabric circle is completely glued down on the red circle of craft foam with the scallops. A red tassel with a purple tie can be seen off to the left, and a gold glitter craft foam flower edge is peeking out from the top.

11. Secure flowers to front of pasties with hot glue.

12. Embellish with rhinestones (use strong glue) or fabric paint. Make sure to let glue and/or paint dry undisturbed for 24 hours.
